For perfect fluffy results, cook quinoa using the absorption method in a ratio 1:2
i.e. for 1 cup of uncooked quinoa add 2 cups of water.
Equipment needed:
- Small saucepan with lid
- Measuring cup
- Stovetop
- Accurate timer/clock
Ingredients needed:
- 1 cup Quinoa (uncooked)
- 2 cups water
- Pinch of salt
Method:
- Put the quinoa, water and salt in a small saucepan with a lid
- Bring to boil on high heat
- Reduce to very low heat and simmer for approx 12 minutes.
- Take saucepan off the heat, leave the lid on for about 10 minutes
- Fluff your quinoa with a fork.
All cooked and ready to be dressed up with your favourite ingredients!
Cooking quinoa is too easy, just remember to leave the lid on for 10 minutes after removing from heat.
This finishes the cooking process by steaming the quinoa, leaving it lovely and fluffy.
